What does the written test include?

Once you complete all the necessary procedures, then you will need to pass the written test.

Here are the steps you need to follow:

  1. Go to the written test room in the Directorate.
  2. The officer will give you a numbered ticket indicating your test seat.
  3. You will be taking a computer-based test answering questions using multiple-choice and true or false formats.
  4. If you cannot read or write, you will be provided with headphones. The headphones will have a recording that will read the questions to you.
  5. You must demonstrate your knowledge of first aid, mechanics, traffic signs, and traffic rules and safety.
  6. The test will last 15 minutes and include 10 questions, each worth 10 points. To pass, you need a minimum score of 60 points.
  7. Once you finish your answers, the officer will write the score on your file and stamp it.

NOTE: If you are unable to get a passing score, the officer at the Traffic Directorate will determine when you can retake the test. Usually, they give you an appointment for the next day.

What does the practical test include?

Once you have completed the written test, you can take your file, and proceed to the officer stationed outside the written test room. He/she will give you a numbered ticket to begin your practical test.

  1. Take your ticket and join the queue in the test yard.
  2. Wait for your turn to drive.
  3. During the practical test, you will drive a car along a planned road with sensors and cameras electronically connected to the system.
  4. Listen carefully for the announcement of your name and the test car's number through the speakers. Your name will also appear on the test car's electronic display.
  5. The system calculates your success and failure points. Remember, the duration of the practical test is three minutes. Exceeding this time will result in a test failure.
  6. The test is scored out of 100 points, and you must achieve a passing score of at least 80 points.
  7. After the test, your result will be announced through the speakers.
  8. After passing the test, the officer will stamp the score on your file.
  9. Then, you'll need to submit the file to the specialized officer who will process and issue your Driving License.
  10. You can receive your Driving License within one or two days.

Remember to stay focused and calm during the test.

NOTE: If you are unable to get a passing score, the officer at the Traffic Directorate will determine when you can retake the test. Usually, they give you an appointment for the next day.
