Typographical errors can occur in any type of document, In this article, we will provide you a step-by-step guide on how to correct these errors and your official documents will accurately reflect your personal information.

 

6 Steps to correct the typographical error in the Unified National Card:

  1. Visit the Unified National Card department and obtain an application form from the shops next to the department.
  2. You will need to write an amendment request (the employee at the shops next to the department will help you write the request).

Below is an example of the amendment request:

  1. Then submit the amendment request to the director of the Unified Card Department for approval.

Note: If you are in one of the governorates (Salah al-Din, Mosul, or Anbar), you will need to visit the intelligence office to stamp the application.

  1. After that, visit the information officer at the National Card Department to have your fingerprints taken.
  2. You will then need to pay the official fees for the corrected typographical error of 5,000 Iraqi dinars at the financial office.
  3. Then the information officer will give you the date for receiving the new unified card.

 

5 Steps to Correct the Typographical Error in the Iraqi Nationality Certificate:

  1. Visit the Nationality Department in your governorate and obtain an amendment request from the shops next to the department.

  1. Then, submit the amendment request to the director of the department for approval.

    Note: If you are in one of the governorates (Salah al-Din, Mosul, or Anbar), you will need to visit the intelligence office to stamp the application.

  2. Next, you will need to submit an application form to the specialized employee of the Nationality Department, along with four personal photos. The employee will take your fingerprint.
  3. After that, you will need to pay the official fees for the corrected typographical error of 2,000 Iraqi dinars at the financial office.
  4. The employee will give you a date to receive the new Nationality certificate.

 

Note: The Civil Status ID does not need to be corrected if it contains a typographical error because you will obtain a unified card as a substitution.

 

6 Steps to correct a typographical error in the Iraqi passport:

  1. You will need to fill out and submit a passport application form online through the official website (click here), or by visiting the Passport Department in your governorate.
  2. Then, submit an amendment request to the Director of the Department for approval, attached to the passport application form.

Note: If you are in one of the governorates (Salah al-Din, Mosul, or Anbar), you will need to visit the intelligence office to stamp the application.

3. Go to any bank approved by the Central Bank of Iraq to pay the passport issuance application fee (25,000 Iraqi dinars) and obtain a certified receipt from the bank.

4. Choose your bank wisely, as some banks may charge higher fees than others.

5. You will need to put the following documents in one file.

  • The certified receipt from the bank.

  • The amendment request.

  • The Passport application form.

  • 6 personal photos.

6. The employee will take your fingerprints and give you a date to receive the new Passport.

 

5 steps to correct the typographical error in the ration card:

1. Visit the ration supply department in your governorate and obtain an amendment request and renewal form from the shops next to the department.

2. Submit the amendment request and the renewal form to the director of the department for approval.

3. Afterward, you must pay a fee of 10,000 Iraqi dinars to the financial department.

4. The employee will amend the ration card by handwriting and stamping the corrected part on the Ration Card.

5. The correction will be included in the new ration card at the beginning of next year.

 

 

8 Steps to correct the typographical error in the Residence Card:

  1. Visit the Information Center in your neighborhood and obtain an amendment request and a residence card renewal form from the shops next to the center.

2. Then, submit the amendment request to the Director of the center for approval.

3. Then you will need to have the officer's approval on the residence card renewal form.

4. Put the following documents in one file:

  • Support letter from Mukhtar.
  • 4 personal photos of the head of the family.
  • The approved amendment request.
  • The approved renewal forms.

5. Then visit the mayor's office to stamp the file.

6. Afterward, return to the information center to give the specialized employee your file.

7. You will then need to pay the official fees for correcting the typographical error of 3,000 Iraqi dinars at the financial office.

8. Finally, the specialized employee will give you a date to receive your new residence card.
